Dmitri Aske
Dmitri Aske is a Moscow based artist, one of the ideologists of the urban contemporary art movement. He started his career as a graffiti writer in 2000 and later switched to graphic design and illustration. Dmitri worked with Nike, Reebok and other prominent brands, creating art objects and graphics. He was also a cofounder of Code Red, former graffiti magazine and a successful Russian street wear brand, which he left in 2015 and fully dedicated himself to art. In recent years, Aske has created plywood reliefs in his unique technique, has made sculptures, as well as painted a number of murals both in Russia and Europe. In 2016, according to the InArt research, he was named the 4th among the young Russian artists by the sum of their auction sales. Besides art, Dmitri runs an online magazine Vltramarine, gives lectures on graffiti and street art. In 2018 Aske became a curator of the large-scale research project about street art and graffiti culture in Russia.
